Trend to inspire you: A Strengths-Based Mobile App

Today’s companies face major challenges, including:

  1. Amplify engagement, talent self-development and continuous learning at a rapid pace.
  2. Accelerate teamwork – collaboration, autonomy and synergy of strengths.
  3. Equip team leaders to have effective, relevant and inspiring coaching conversations.

To meet these challenges, the strengths approach is a concrete and effective solution. Gallup’s research shows that teams who feel at their full potential and use their strengths at work are more productive, customer-focused and committed.

This has a direct impact on retention and performance.

A strength-based self-coaching mobile app

Trend to inspire you: The book « The Heart of Business » by Hubert Joly

The book  – The Heart of Business– by Hubert Joly is a great source of inspiration for us. This book talks about Purposeful Leadership, the importance of creating an environment where everyone can thrive and find solutions together.

For a summary of the book, view this podcast here : A New Leadership Model for the Future of Business and Work, Joly, H. (2021). HBR.

Hubert Joly is the former CEO of the service company – Best Buy.  Here are some of the purposeful questions he proposes challenges us to answer :

  • What type of leader do you think you are today?
  • What has driven your career decisions so far?
  • What kind of leader do you want to be?
  • How do you want to be remembered?

Hubert Joly also insists on the importance of building high-performing Teams with a common Purpose.

How do we want to be remembered as a Team?

This is why this book has been at the core of our co-leadership practices.  For lasting impact, dare to co-create your future destination collectively.  Try to move from a traditional top-down executive approach where priorities for the year are imposed.  Explore more collaborative approaches such as  “world cafe” to involve the team in the co-creation of priorities and action plans to move forward, together.

Hubert Joly’s book is easily accessible. We appreciate its structure, as at the end of each chapter you will find a summary of key messages as well as questions to help you go further.

We encourage you to read this book with the following questions in mind that were developed by Jason Renshaw:

  1. How do the concepts in this book potentially align with what you see happening in your own context right now?
  2. What do you notice and think about, because of reading this book?
  3. What interests you most right now?

Enjoy the discovery!
