Self-Coaching Corner: from Objective to Decision – The coaching question of the month

To provide meaningful questions to reconnect, step back and open new perspectives in the complex world around us.  We want these questions to help you in your own coaching with your colleagues and even with your peers.

Around us, the challenges are multiple and increasingly complex. Sometimes we find it difficult to step back, caught up in a whirlwind of actions and multiple emails and online meetings.   As Spring is often a time for new inspiration, we share a first reflective question.   As you read it, you might find it too simple. Or might say, “Yes….Easy to say, not easy to do!!!”.   Be bold. Write the question down. Share it with someone you trust. Ask this question to a colleague. Or try it during your next mentoring session.   Here’s the question:   – If the situation were as, you want it, what would it be?
  • What do you see, what do you feel, what do you hear?
  • You can answer it with a drawing, pictures, a song, words, sentences…
  • Dare to give yourself this opportunity to be creative.
  • Give yourself permission to project yourself forward, without constraint.
This question is designed to help you envision the future, one step at a time.   You can find this question in the Self-Coaching Starter Kit – from Objective to Decision. The kit equips you with a tangible coaching cycle to find solutions and to move forward. It is now available on our website:
